A Pot of Basil, or, Thank You for Being a Friend tells the story of Isabel Havers, a would-be writer trying to run away from her unhappy life…and then her life is put on hold when New York goes into lockdown for the 2020 COVID pandemic. All she has for company are her imagination, a cockroach, Marie Antoinette…and episodes of The Golden Girls. This sweet and surreal comedy takes a look at finding courage when the world is ending, and figuring out what to do next.
